Unabashedly posh, the Mayfair envelops its patrons in the plush atmosphere of the late 19th century
The Mayfair is both a cocktail bar and a spiked tea room on Rachel Street, perfect for happy hour, a night out with the girls, a romantic evening or a group outing. And on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, a DJ spins an eclectic mix of beats sure to get everyone on their feet. The Mayfair is the ideal place to escape the daily grind and live like a British aristocrat while sipping a cocktail—or two!
The furnishings, ornate lamps and warm ambiance call to mind an era when high society moved into the Mayfair area, building the grand Victorian buildings for which it is known today. In keeping with the tone of a late 19th century English bar, Mayfair’s designer wanted to create the feel of a luxurious tea room befitting an aristocrat. But here, tea is mixed in alcoholised cocktails and served in a festive atmosphere that will change how Plateau residents see tea time. Since tea goes hand in hand with the British Empire and its fascination with India, the establishment even has a private draped section with Indian accents available upon reservation that is surely going to be a hit.
